Steve Butterworth
Executive Producer & Head of CC-Films
Steve is a producer with twelve years experience making feature
films, television and digital content for international distribution. In
the last five years he has worked on a large amount of advertiser
funded content for Nike, Smirnoff, Heineken, Orange RockCorps,
Playstation and Sony.
Before working at the Lab he worked as an independent feature film producer making the feature film “Birthday Girl” starring Nicole Kidman and Ben Chaplin for Miramax Films. After playing at the Cannes, Venice and Sundance Film Festivals the film received a 1,000 screen release in
the US and went on to be released in over 60 territories worldwide.
Prior to that Steve was Head of Production at Portobello Pictures
during which time they produced the Oscar and Golden Globe
winning foreign language film “Kolya”, Tim Roth’s challenging
directorial debut film “The War Zone”, a film adaptation of “Mojo” the
Olivier Award winning stageplay and adapted the television crime
drama “Dalziel & Pascoe” for the BBC – now in its twelfth season.
Steve recently established CC-Films as a joint venture with CC-Lab, to produce feature films.
CC-Films debut project is a feature film adapted from John Niven’s (Kill Your Friends, The Amateurs) novella Music From Big Pink. Jez and John-Henry Butterworth (Birthday Girl, Fair Game) have adapted the screenplay.
