How to top the Moscow event…? When in doubt, trust Rock N Roll.
At the end of January 2008 we rolled on over to China, got ourselves an empty warehouse space, filled it full of a massive bar with the longest cocktail list in the world, loads of other drinking experiences, fun and games, and rocked the 2,000 specially invited guests.
As ever our hero Tom Middleton was there to count us all out and back, with the assistance of a local Shanghai turntablist collective The Lab, he took us on a one off aural journey through the history of hip hop’s most sampled break beat “Apache”.
Then we got Hard Fi - fresh off the back of a sell out UK stadium tour - to let loose accompanied by a troupe of traditional Shanxi Drummers. Finally, the coup of the gig, we persuaded Sasha to spin a rock set for the first time ever in his long career at the zenith of global DJ’s – he did not disappoint, the man can rock.
