Season 2 of our hugely successful Topman CTRL shows. Bigger, stronger, faster. This year it takes the form of a major new 6 × 30’ music series. It is a studio based format, shot in a warehouse space in North London and is a natural progression for Topman from last years CTRL Student Tour and Bestival highlights.

It is a studio based format, shot in a warehouse space in North London and is a natural progression for Topman from last years CTRL Student Tour and Bestival highlights.
Topman CTRL MX is hosted by leading Radio1 DJ Huw Stephens and the series takes viewers on a musical voyage featuring performances from the crème de la crème of new and established acts. Each show has an exclusive Controller, who chooses their favourite acts to appear on the show. In the CTRL hot seat are the likes of ultimate “Inbetweener”, James Buckley, Brit Award winner Jessie J and Mark Ronson.
With six weekly instalments, Topman CTRL MX airs phenomenal performances from the hottest acts around, including Miles Kane, White Lies, The View, The Vaccines, Brother, Bright Eyes, The Joy Formidable, Lykke Li, and Gruff Rhys, to name a few. CTRL MX isn’t just about live studio performances as each week, the programme shines a light on all aspects of the world of music, featuring short stories and highlighting influential bloggers, distinctive start-up labels, independent record stores and band-run fanzines.
