Keane curates War Child
War Child is a group of independent organizations, working across the world to help children affected by war.
At the end of last year Keane put on two gigs to raise funds for War Child’s work. We shot the Brixton gig for them as Keane curated a show featuring Pet Shop Boys, Guillemots, Lily Allen, Brendan Benson, Peter Kay, The Magic Numbers, Milburn Findlay Brown and Teddy Thompson.
The Brixton event raised £75,000 that will go towards War Child’s Iraq Appeal. Iraq is a country where one child dies every five minutes and almost half don’t have access to education. War Child is the only international charity working with children in southern Iraq, so this money is, quite literaly, vital.
The 60 minute TV show compromising interviews and performance was turned around in just two days for broadcast on Channel4.
