The Isle of Wight Festival 2009
Who needs Ibiza when the sun always shines on England’s very own “wight isle”… Once again we got a red hot welcome to our seventh year of shooting the Isle of Wight Festival.
This year was our busiest yet with seven hours of broadcast content produced on site across the weekend. Not only did we shoot the Main Stage and the Big Top but we shot an acoustic backstage tent too. All of the the main shows were braodcast on ITV2 with the last three tracks of each headline performance going out live to air. In addition ITV1 broadcast a 60 minute highlights show.
In all 3.8 million viewers tuned in to the weekend shows. Feren Cotton and Rufus Hound presented the shows and headliners this year were Neil Young, Razorlight and the Prodigy, plus Stereophonics, Simple Minds, Pendulum, Paolo Nutini and Calvin Harris.
Complementing the multicamera performance footage we set out to capture the spirit of the festival with a combination of Ferne’s artist interviews together, joyous and unique acoustic moments together with with humourous packages, presented by Rufus, shot around the festival site and out and about on the Island.
The material has been reversioned for international sales.
